The Tiny Trio:Three Amigos, December 17 2013

I got three gerbils today! Mom and I were discussing future pets a day after my other gerbil died, Mom said two gerbils for christmas would be fine (I was surprised). I wanted to see some gerbils to help me think for future reference so we went to one pet store but they didn't have any gerbils. The next store we found the perfect one, a black and white gerbil like I wanted but there where two others to decide from. I found many qualities in both gerbils that I loved so much I couldn't make up my mind, finally Mom announced I could get them all I was delighted to hear this. Now I have a black and white gerbil named Oreo, a tan gerbil named after my past gerbil Cookie, and a gray gerbil with faint white markings named Scratch. So far Cookie the second has first day jitters but otherwise all is well.      NOTE: Our clerk said they where selling like mad and we were the first to see the gerbils, also they were just put out to be sold so we took the deal( they were on sale).

George Washingtons Sergeant Fair!

Recently, Mary Ludwig's husband has fallen in battle. She took his place at the cannon bravely loading and shooting. George Washington took this to mind right away and crowned her Sergeant of the Army. She also receives this honor due to her services (bringing pitchers of water to the soldiers) hence her present name "Molly Pitcher".
To some people this is no surprise for Molly grew up on a farm pulling one-hundred-eighty pound sacks up the stairs. So if you see George Washington's Sergeant Fair remember to salute.

Save The Hamsters!: The Help A Hammy Program by Alex Brown

What is Help A Hammy?

The Help A Hammy Program is a program to inform potential and former hamster owners, pet shop workers the most important breeders, that your happy hamster may have an unhappy fate.

My Experience

I had a hamster once his name was Mr. Nibbles, he was a real sweetie he would snuggle for an hour on a fluffy blanket while we watched a movie and he never ever bit anyone during his whole life. Until one day while I was doing some school work I noticed his eye was way bigger and goopier than ever, I started panicking I told my dad and frantically about Nibby's eye. Later, when mom came to look at him we went on a website all about hamsters and we discovered he had Diabetes and Glaucoma. Soon after he died. We found out that stinky pee (a clue right under our noses) was a sign of Diabetes and we didn't even know it.
Pocket Nib Nib snuggles Photo by: Alex Brown

Why Would That Happen?

Hamsters are prone to Diabetes, they will pick all the seeds out of the food mix causing an imbalance in nutrition. I call this "candy seed picking.  If your hamster does not do this bad habit (or you put them on a diet) they still have just as much of a chance of getting diabetes depending on what the breeders feed the hamster's mother and father. If the hamsters parents already have Diabetes the genetic make up will cause the baby hamsters to become more prone to the disease.

What To Look For

To check if your hamster has diabetes check for concentrated/stinky urine, seed hoarding (hidden seed) and lack of exercise. (their fur may smell bad as well)

Help A Hammy Purpose

I want to reach out to unsuspecting breeders and hamster owners to warn them that their hamster may have Diabetes and in the future to feed their hamster less seed and more veggies. I have set a goal to keep having people feed their hamsters healthy food and slowly begin to eliminate their glutinous habits    and have happy hamsters stay happy.

Hamster Food Suggestions

For hamster food I prefer cut up vegetables such as carrots, lettuce and especially kale, timothy hay is also an option that is good for them as well but they often reject it. Anything and I mean ANYTHING besides that I would research before you give it to your hamster (yes, even cucumber you should research ) P.S hamsters can still eat seed just give it to them only for a day or two a week so they don't pig out :-) Other Suggestions: you can also use a sifter to make sure that the amount of sunflower seeds is balanced

Two Steps Forward One Step Back

I had a bad experience with public education, my first years were fine but when I got older the math curriculum changed and I was struggling with division, multiplication as well as other parts in math. Both schools I went to (I won't tell names) had very bad math curriculum. Some methods they wanted to use which were "supposedly" easier ways to do math included, "lattice method", "box method" and the the most ferocious " Big 7". These methods were used to teach division and multiplication.
The more I struggled, my mom decided to send me to a math tutor for half an hour every Friday to do multiplication cards and division work sheets and I did great! I went back to class proud and excited to conquer this math, only to fail again. The reason for all these times I failed was the school was teaching me fake math and my tutor was teaching me real math. My mom had enough and so did I, so  for the Summer I was sent to a math class to give myself a boost. I started learning more by the second and before I knew it I was nailing it! The math was real. I understood the concepts and why repetition in math is important. This helped us decide to homeschool for fifth grade, we've discovered the sky's the limit, cursive is back, I love history and I finish at twelve.

So parents if you or your kid is failing think about what the school is teaching you, Is it real?

The Treasure Seekers: Mini Book Report

I am Reading The Treasure  Seekers by E Nesbit so far Dora (the eldest of six kids) gathered all the other kids Alice, Dickey, Oswald, Horace Octavius and Noel to come up with ways to find treasure for the family which has become poor since their mom died, their plans were:

  • Horace Octavius - gold bandits
  • Oswald - highway robbery or a rescue
  • Alice - divining rod
  • Dickey (the sophisticated one) -mail order business
  • Dora - digging for treasure
  • Noel - was secretive about his idea
I would dress up as sickly hobo kid and go out to beg for money and for the grand finally I DIE but then when I feel a warm hand in my shoulder, I gasp and cough then slouch back up and because the poor soul feels so sorry for this poor kid he gives me money galore. Just kidding, that's not right! I would rather go into business, I would get a lot of old clothes and make stuffed animals, dresses, bonnets and more! Back then, the main stream items people buy and sell are clothing, dolls, soap, jewelry and ink, I would try all of those to see which one sells the best.

The Way Ben Franklin Likes His Turkey

In an endearing letter to his daughter Ben Franklin said:

"I wish the eagle hadn't been chosen representative for our country. He is a bird of bad character. He will watch as the diligent River Hawk dives down to catch his splendorous meal to take back to his mate and chicks but then the eagle attacks him and grasps his prize for he is too lazy to catch fish for himself. He is like a robber more so than a honorary bird. The king bird not smaller than the common sparrow battles him boldly and drives him away. I prefer a Turkey, because the turkey is a much more honorable bird though a little vain and silly he is a bird of courage and would not hesitate to attack a grenadier at his farm with a red coat on."

I would choose the Secretary Bird because it sounds organized and honorable.

The Pontiac Rebellion

The Pontiac Rebellion was named after the chief of the Ottawa Indian tribe which were allies with the French. The Indians were being pushed off their land by the British, the Indians waged war against them. The first attack was Fort Detroit, The Indians would trick the British by letting them have access to the fort and when everybody was inside the Indians would rush to the fort and kill as many as they could. They repeated the following strategy to other forts, in fact, they were ruthless and killed a school teacher and her ten students.
Because of the ruthless killing militias were formed, this intensified the fighting. Finally, the British and Pontiac signed a treaty that stopped the conflict. However, no prisoners were taken and no land was ceded by the indians.

Proclamation of 1763

After The French Indian War the British and the French signed a treaty. The British victory led to the Proclamation of 1763. This Proclamation stated settlers could not could not go beyond the Appalachian Mountains and could not make land deals with the Indians. This upset many colonists, some had already settled beyond the boundary and their land was taken away. Many ignored this Proclamation. some veterans of the war were to receive land grants as a reward. The British did procure land from the Indians for the purpose of settlement.
The contention settlers had with The British Proclamation was interference in private matters. Many felt it was unnecessary to go through the British parliament in order to obtain a way of living.

The Old Crippled Tree

There once was an old crippled tree in the middle of an old American town, the people despised it so. They where unhappy with its rusty, flaky bark and its twisted branches with a big squirrel hole in the high middle. The town folk complained it made their town look grey and lacking color, like the old man who lives in a shanty on the far part of town.
All the town had a meeting and decided the tree would be cut down at once. The old man was chosen to accomplish this, they provided him an ax and nothing more, so he started for the large tree at a slow pace. Then he chopped it down in a few thwacks for the tree was very dry. Inside was a fine crimson brown color, some awed but some had no interest in it. The very next day there was a lot of elegant fragrance in the air and the women and men sprang from their windows to see … a mahogany cottage and an old man with a gun barrel to match sitting on a stump of a chair. Every one began to walk and wonder to the old mans house as soon as they got there they cheered "Oh,where did you get that wonderful wood?!"
Then he quieted all the town folk and said "Why you fools it is the old twisted tree I cut down the other day," at once they all awed at the mistake they had made. They all trudged home wishing they had the The Mahogany Tree.

The French Indian War: How It Happened

Both French and English thought they had the right to the land which we know now as Pennsylvania.  The French had a fort called Fort Duquesne, George Washington was serving under the English at this time (1745) and his men were marching on their way to this very fort when they encountered a band of French scouting men.  The English massacred them and this battle became known as, The Battle Of Jumonville Glen. Soon after, Washington built Fort Necessity. The French didn't like that, so they sent six hundred soldiers to force Washington to give up Fort Necessity. The French Indian War Began!
The French ended up losing this war giving up many other territories making the English very powerful. The long term effects of the outcome of this war led to deep financial debt for the English. Ten years later in 1765, the British imposed the Stamp Act on the colonies which led to the American Revolution

The Fox And The Panther

One day a fox met a panther in the middle of the forest. The panther was so baffled at the little foxs' size compared to hers, "My my, you look out of shape little dear," she hissed with a mischievous look. Every body in the forest knew Panther would always challenge the other animals that couldn't climb very well to a tree climbing competition so she could make a big fuss about herself.
"You need to get in shape foxy," said Panther, "I challenge you to a tree climbing race!" Finally, the day had come for the fox and the panther to race up the Great Oak Tree. "At the howl of Wolf we will begin climbing" Panther explained. She shot out her dagger like claws and got ready on her side of the big oak. "Haooooooooooooo," Wolf howled. Panther shot up the first third of the tree while fox struggled up to the fourth. Then panther was at at the half way mark every body cheered.
"For me?!?" Panther thought but then she looked down to see fox close behind her. They were getting to the top part of the tree panther strained forward but her large size and weight was too heavy to go any further so she stopped for if she strained up the tree it would break. She glanced over just to see.... "Wheres fox?" She heard a twig break right on the level she was on, the little fox was scamping up the tree like no tomorrow. This made Panther wonder, "I could have sworn foxes can't climb," she mumbled to herself. She started up the tree trying to beat fox by a hair but it was too late. She heard the audience cheer, fox had made it up the whole tree. Then Fox and Panther scurried down, Fox said, "Good game!" but Panther didn't answer, her brain was discombobulated from trying to figure out how she was beaten by a fox.
"I have a tip for you," said Fox, Panther looked at her, "Never ask a Gray Tree Climbing fox to a tree climbing competition."
"Goodbye Panther,"  and with that she scampered up small tree and went into her fox hole.

The moral of this story was: Never under-estimate the small.

The Puritan Irony

In the seventeenth century a group of colonists who called themselves Puritans ran away from persecution in England. Puritans were English Protestants who founded Boston and Massachusetts. The following history portrays how irony befell their name.
The colony they founded was a strict society. For example, you couldn't kiss your own child on Sabbath or fasting day. There were other strict policies such as the restriction of instruments; in some villages you could only play the Trumpet, Irish Drum or the Jews Harp. In some villages you couldn't play or dance to an instrument at all. Other oddities occurred like no playing on the Sabbath or Fasting day and if you whispered, talked or played during the sermon (which is a long period of preaching time) you were to be hit on the head with the tithing man's staff, which had a knob at one end and a squirrel's tail at the other. Sometimes even whips were allowed in churches if the boys where to misbehave to much. Both these punishments brought pain and tears. Isn't the Lords day (Every day) supposed to be cheerful and relaxing?!?
Rigid rules and harsh discipline helped lay the foundation for various troubles in the settlement. Two people, Anne Hutcheson and Roger Williams were exiled for challenging the Governors. Roger Williams was put on trial in Salem and expelled  from the colony. This was a blessing in disguise, soon after Roger founded Rhode Island which was a safe haven for those who where religiously persecuted. Many Quakers showed up there because they where being persecuted by Puritans, which I remind you ran away from persecution themselves.
Another ironic occurrence was the Salem which trials, twenty four people where accused of being a witch. Nineteen were put to death plus two dogs who were accused of being bewitched. It all started with two girls acting out in rebellion, this caused a stir in the community. These girls where always whispering but that wasn't all, their caretaker Tituba was a native from the Caribbean Islands, it was not uncommon in this area for people to dabble with witchcraft. After reviewing the incident, in hind sight the parents should have used discernment to handle the situation. they needed to look at a possible compromise regarding strict rules on the behavior of children, discipline the girls in a loving manner and remove the influence of Tituba. This may have stopped the murderous chain reaction that was unnecessary.
At this point, Puritans are looking pretty bad but one man that was a big part of the settlement had great intentions even though it failed to turn out that way. John Winthrop was a Puritan judge and he wanted the city to be ran by God which is the one and only right way, he wanted the city to be an example to the world. Some people felt the same. In fact, I agree with John Winthrop's 'City Upon A Hill' document. It is important for us to study history, to see the faults and successes and to learn from their mistakes. This lesson might save us from revisiting irony ourselves.

Good Bible Verses for Thought:

Ephesians 6:4
"Father's do not exasperate your children to anger, instead bring them up in the training of the Lord."

Proverbs 12:1
"Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid."

Philippians 9:1
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more in knowledge and depth of insight."

Mom's Note: I find this study interesting. I learned that when man tries to do the Holy Spirit's work, it ends in disaster and letting the Holy Spirit be the Head of the body seems to be a difficult task for Human's to allow.

The Quest Part 2

He is missing a cub. One of the two cubs he had had been swept away while he was pulled under. The other is whining with fear so he pulls up onto dry land and puts it down on the nice warm grass and it subsides. He looks up to motion her to swim across but she has gone along the river side vigilantly searching  for her lost pup. Then she sees it. The cub is capsized onto its back. Thank goodness it has air!
She finds a nice place in the grass to put the two pups she has and dives in. The water is cold against her fur she strains towards the pup and grasps it's cold soggy body, it shivers in her mouth, she is tossed and turned constantly while fighting the river. Could this be the end of her generation? She feels a sharp pain as she is dragged down, now all is calm. She doesn't feel the pup in her grasp. She feels her surroundings suddenly lighten and everything is rushing again. All she can see is the blur of five figures.
Her surroundings change again she is gaining her senses back and she is on land. She looks at her half

drowned pup waddling up to her and her venerable mate keeping the soaked cubs warm. She is so relieved and relaxed but there is no time to loose. They need to find a territory populous in food and hiding areas, a new place safe from any bears, a place for her pups to grow up. This is when the real journey begins. Her mate motions her to get up and starts padding away with  pups trotting behind him.
She gets up wearily and hobbles over. Then they see a figure off in the distance it is small and brown, perhaps a fox? No. It is a rabbit, a sign of life and food! Her mate starts faster towards the land because he knows that it is a safe plentiful place to make a den. Finally, they have arrived at the best den yet it was gorgeous for it was a small rock den with a hidden entrance in a beautiful area just fit for wolves.

Colonial Hipster

There were hipsters back then and one of them was William Penn. Not soon after he turned eighteen William decided to grow his locks long and wavy. His dad was an Admiral for the British navy. Will started hanging with the Quakers who thought for themselves, wouldn't remove their hat or act pompous and everyone they met was considered a friend. Will decided to rebel against his father's wishes to be part of the court of the King, he took it too far and got expelled from college so his dad said, "I am not having any of this," and sent him off to France, then Ireland where he was put in prison. Despite being sent away from the influence of the Quakers, Will found himself always draw back in.

When his dad passed on Will inherited land owed to his father by the King. He declared an adventure open to his friends to take part in a chance for freedom. Over 3,000 colonial hipsters decided the journey was worth the chance and settled with Penn in Penn's Woods (Pennsylvania). A great city of commerce and education was born where refuge from war was sought and people of all colors and creeds found comfort. The name of the city was befittingly called the city of brotherly love (Philadelphia).
William Penn

He may have been off beat to some in those days but as Jim Powell states in his article, William Penn, America's First Great Champion for liberty and Peace, "By creating Pennsylvania, Penn set an enormously important example for liberty. He showed that people who are courageous enough, persistent enough, and resourceful enough can live free. He went beyond the natural right theories of his friend John Locke and showed how a free society would actually work. He showed how individuals of different races and religions can live together peacefully when they mind their own business. He affirmed the resilient optimism of free people."

Sadly, Penn wasn't able to settle in His own 'land'. Due to financial troubles, he had to return to England in 1701.  He died in 1718 never able to return to America. Ronald Reagan gave him honorary citizenship November 28, 1984.

The Hipster as defined by the urban dictionary: "Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter."

The Colonial Hipster definition by Chandra and Alex Brown: "Colonial Hipsters are a subculture of men and women that valued independent thinking, counter-culture (of their time period), would have owned a 'make love not war' bumper sticker for their horse, enjoys solitude, intelligence and witty banter. Drab brown, Grey, black and white articles of clothing depicts the extent of fashion sense; it's simple. May find themselves in prison for their hipster lifestyle.

The Quest

Attentive golden eyes stare into the forest, a stoic figure indispensably focused. Her immense paws daintily lift off the ground, she moves stealthily. Then she pounces with her claws dispersed. She chases the animal across the forest, she tries once more! Soon she tastes the food she is longing for.
The snow is turning her gray coat white as she runs with her prize meal to her mate. Now she is in search of a remote birthing den for she is going to have cubs. She has had her pups in a tree that has its roots half way out of the ground making a nice cozy cave for the family. The cubs unavailing senses cause her to perpetually guide them  around the den and territory. She let out a clamorous howl to  her mate calling him to help handle her new litter.  Now they can explore  outside the den area but not for long. The time has come to move from the den area for bears and other predators will come to this location constantly for a meal.
den photo by:Tom Remington
But it's too late, a bear has come to slaughter her litter. She franticly grabs one of her pups and fleas to a nearby rocky area and places it down gently, off in the distance she sees her mate having a furious battle and runs swiftly back to get another pup. She does so until all her pups are far from the vicious bear who is now raiding her meat storage. She and her faithful mate both with two cubs sprint towards the river, it's rushing and very deep it had been frozen when she had reached this area in the winter and the only way to get all four pups across the raging river alive is to hope. Her mate goes first he strides into the deep river then he strains his neck up trying to keep the two pups he has at the moment alive. Suddenly, he is swept under the thick sheet of ice cold water! She urges forward in fear, then he bobs back up. She is excited to see him alive but there's one thing he is missing...

What the HECK is it?

I recently purchased a webkinz !!! However...

what the HECK is it!?!?!?

I may have missed the news about webkinz hybrids, cause I really don't know what this is.

Just look at it! Is it a duck, a goose? NAH, probably a platypus or a kiwi bird, but just look at it, it can't be!!! I looked at the tag for the name of this thing and the company classified it as a Googles! WHAT THE HECK IS A GOOGLES?!?!

That got me searching on the internet, on Google to be exact and I didn't find an animal in nature anywhere close to this thing.

Take a look at these pictures and tell me WHAT THE HECK IT IS. Until I get any answers I am  going to call it a Goopladui ( goo-pla-doo-ee) cause the best I can tell it's a Goose, Platypus,Duck and a Kiwi. At least webkinz has an imagination, (or a lack of one) I'll give them credit for that.

The Texas Tree

As a peach tree some may think that it's hard staying in one spot for my entire life, but it's not,
for me it is quite fine. The only thing that can remove me from my spot is He who created me and His forces or  humans which may cut me down for lumber. A typical day consists mainly of interacting with wildlife like the happy little squirrel family that scurries up my branches tickling me, oh what a joyful thing to laugh!
It is always a joy when the sparrows sing upon my tree tops hearing them sing makes my day.  How soothing to have the cats and grey foxes scratch my trunk that has been holding an itch all day. Ah, how I love the smiling, clever, little fellows that come to make forts and hide outs from my canopy.
One of my favorite things is the soft, cool rain cleansing my leaves giving me nutrients that I have longed for and needed and of course, the blue sage color of the wet drops hitting the ground is pure delight.  My favorite time of  year is Fall, when I mend a dress of  red, auburn, brown and gold for my dear friends the soil and ground, for they are the ones that keep my roots safe and sound. Along with that I bear the most gorgeous succulent, sweet  fruit for all the happy families that come to pick and enjoy.
As you can see it is very pleasant being a tree but sometimes pesky bugs like aphids and grasshoppers come and destroy my beautiful greenery and seeds but caterpillars are the WORST, they will chew you up like a goat on an open field. Even though this can be hard on me, that's just what you have to go through when you are a tree.

Under The Weather

One fine sunny morning Mom said,
"Hey, Odie hasn't eaten today!"
"Lets feed her some turkey," I proclaim
We urge her to eat it
But she looks at it as if she were trying to say
"LAME."
...
Oh no, that's not like Odie and this isn't the first day
"Then lets take her to the doctor," I say.
...
Little rain clouds form over our heads
"Your going to have to put her on meds,"the Doctor said.
We carry her out, our emotions are scarred
"Oh why does life have to be so hard?"
...
We hang in the balance,"Will she be okay?"
Then we bring her to the vet again one day
A bad diagnosis brings dismay
"TEN?! OH NO"
We didn't think she would go below!
We thought we had to give her a transfusion
But then we discovered at the specialty vet
That all of this is just confusion
"Her blood rate  is sixteen, worry not now" said the specialty Doc
We were so relieved we couldn't talk!
...
Next visit to the doc was twenty five and then thirty six
We are so glad we conquered some thing hard to fix!

Explorer Poems: Henry Hudson

Henry Hudson an English man who heard one day
"We need an ice free way to china, will any one proceed?"
Dear old Henry thought "I can find a way!"
He set off in 1607
With his son and a crew of eleven
However he did not find china he had found a Bay
And made friends with the red men
Until one day
BANG!
One of his crew had killed an Indian
Causing much trouble and strife
Making poor Hudson have a hard life
Up the river he explored
But his men were cold and weary and began to abhor
They set poor Henry seven others and his son
Afloat in a boat
Never heard or seen again
This is the death of Henry Hudson,
and his men.

They forever are lost

In 1587  A colony in Roanoke,Virginia that was lead by Sir Walter Raleigh went missing while their faithful leader was getting more supplies for them. Raleigh came back only to find carvings, one said, 'Croatoan' the other said, 'Cro' which was a native tribe near the area. I presume the colony was killed off by the Croatoans or another tribe who wanted to frame the Croatoans.
The reason I believe this is the second carving that says 'Cro' got me thinking, "Why would whoever carved it not finish?"Also, people most likely write better notes back then, however, the colonist would not have time to write a full note if they where being killed off by a whole indian tribe.
It is probable that the colonist were killed but others have thought that the indians had pity for the colonist and took them in for they had no leader at that time and needed help.
Wouldn't you think that if the whole colony disappeared in one period
it would be probable that they where killed?

Rain Fall

Rain fall
  Wet,wild
Dripping,falling,lapping
Clouds, air the water and the wind
Cold, drafting
Thundering, lightning
Falling to the ground
There has never been a more delightful sound
Of rain
Pattering on the lilac cottage in the woods

Periwinkle Blue

Comfort is as blue as the sky in the early morning
It sounds of a birds sweet honey melody
It bares the taste of honey green tea
and the smell of morning dew breeze
Its looks are high in quality, a wet field of delicate roses
Its simple gifts are ones we treasure.

Road Rage

 Road Rage

In her Passat
with her daughter
on a day quite hot
we where driving down Slaughter
then we stopped at a green light
Mom opened her mouth for a fight

She shouted, "Are you picking your nose,"
with flames bursting from her ears,
"Are you off in a dose?"
I was embarrassed from all these jeers
I hope nobody sees!
Oh, get me out of here please!

Floor it ! Come on!
She yelled like a maniac
before she noticed I was gone in my thoughts
thinking about giving her fowl mouth a wack
so now you know when its traffic time
not all the things Mom does are sublime.

BOP!

To all you moms out there that screech at the old Chinese grandma that's picking her nose while her car sits at a green light

Little White Fox

A little white fox lay in the snow
her fur is soft as silk but
the cold is like daggers of ice
she is hungry like a bear
because her mom she knows not where

Fox Tales: Fox Tail Special

Over the years I have sewn two tails, my original red fox/coyote  and my grey wolf / arctic fox tails. This year I have sewn a third tail a silver/black fox tail! I was inspired to make this tail to go with my one and only silver fox plush! I got the perfect fur to complete this peculiar tail, the color is a mix of black cat and sweet brown with a snow white tip like a usual fox would have.

My original red fox tail was tricky because it was our first time making a tail! I needed help from my family. I was a little nervous  because I didn't want to give up my old tail which came off a horse I used to have. I used the horse tail as a unicorn tail, then a wolf tail  and finally a fox tail until I found a you tube video on how to make an easy quality tail. I thought this was quite appealing to have something that actually looks like a fox tail !    I like my fox tails because they make me feel more like a fox when I play with my friends. I can also be more than a fox with these tails!

I can be .....

  • Red Fox
  • Grey Fox
  • Arctic Fox
  • Fennec Fox
  • Black Fox
  • Silver Fox
  • Grey Wolf
  • Red Wolf
  • Arctic Wolf
  • Coyote
With five ears and three tails I can be 10 canines.

Circular Complimentary Color Art Project

Today I finished an art project for home school, the whole idea of it is to use the complimentary colors together.  First, I used a compass to draw all the circles( you might see  some in the picture).  Second, I drew my hand in the middle of the paper and colored it with paired complimentary colors.
  • blue and orange

  • purple and yellow

  • red and green
all go together on the paper  :-)

Silver Fox Project REVEALED

I have FINISHED the silver fox plush that I have told you readers about. YES IT CAN move its legs like planned. She can sit,lay and beg. I would like to add, she is a great companion. My favorite part was making the tail (I LOVE tails).
Mock up before sewing
Heather has a skeleton inside her plush body and in the lower part of her jointed legs, the skeleton is made of wire. (I was against wire at first but I ended up using it to make her stronger).
When I saw the head come together, I could envision what the entire fox would look like

Posing in Nature
The project took about 16 weeks to finish even though I had free time in between. She was frustrating and exciting to make and I think when I get older I should try again to make something even more realistic.

ENJOY THE SILVER FOX PICTURES!
