Immigration Paragraph

In 1903 a poem by the name of The New Colossus, by Emma Lazarus was inscribed on a plaque at the foot of The Statue Of Liberty. It reads “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to be free.” America accomplish this by giving immigrants opportunities in their times of need to start again, for example, the Irish suffered greatly during the great potato famine which led to migration by the millions to America.
